Ever wondered why our generation is gradually turning to a passive generation? By passive generation, I mean one that sees “stress – free” as a hobby.
It all boils down to the ” Pleasure Principle “.
Pleasure principle according to Freudian psychoanalysis is the instructual seeking of pleasure and avoiding of pain in order to satisfy biological and psychological needs

Does any word comes to mind with the above definition? Of course, “LAZINESS”.
Laziness is the disclination of activity or exertion despite having the ability to act or exert oneself. It is the desire to be idle, to do nothing and resist effort. It is a state of passivity and of letting things as they are. The generality of mankind is lazy. In this civilized world, where networking and gaming becomes not just a hobby but an activity, there is a growing over the degree of passivity especially in youths, who have embedded laziness within our shift to a more sedentary liestyle.
The disadvantage of pleasure principle is that it comes with a price tag. It makes one unproductive with the end resulting in bad feeling of oneself, guilty and frustration. In other words, someone may have all the technical knowledge, scientific intellectual and business know – how but when the person chooses laziness, his or her relevance is meaningless. Hence, what distinguishes men of genuine achievement from the rest of us, is not so much but their fullest use of their potentialities. Nobody really knows how smart or talented he/she is until he/she finds incentives to use himself/herself to the fullest and quit laziness.
The solution is obvious: Awareness, understanding and recognition of this major problem will help us all contemplate our behaviour change. When next laziness fires at me, I will dare to fire back with enthusiasm. I will raise up from the same time, from the same place that I have fallen, move on to shun the pleasure principle and make a shift from passivity to activity. What about you, what is your solution
